Open Positions for 2026-27

 Co-Presidents (representing a future Woodward family & a future WJ family)

• Boosters should be led by co-presidents to share responsibilities and ensure both schools benefit from knowledge transfer.  Key responsibilities:
• Prepare agendas and run monthly meetings (2nd Wednesday of every month)
• Speak at coaches/faculty kick-off meetings (August), BTSN, class parent meetings and meet-the-coaches nights
• Ensure committees have resources they need
• Provide oversight for finance and marketing to ensure information is consistent/current
• Update bylaws/funding guidelines as needed (updated in 2024)
• Maintain open communications with WJ Administration
• Time Requirements: July/August/September is heaviest load, but remainder of year primarily consists of preparing for monthly meetingsWe currently outsource this to an accounting firm but hoping there is a WJ parent with this expertise who could help us file our returns, working directly with the Treasurer.

• Social Media -- "Boost" our presence on Instagram -- tagging/following clubs and teams, posting Boosters announcements, highlighting school events, etc.  
• Graphic Designer -- Create graphics for social media, website and electronic bulletin boards throughout WJ.  

• Building Services Appreciation Luncheon (May) -- Coordinate annual luncheon for Building Services/Security teams, including coordinating date/room with WJ, ordering food and setting up luncheon on day-of.  
• **NEW** Officials Appreciation Week Coordinator (one week per sports season) -- MCPS designates one week each sports season as the Officials Appreciation Week. As we have not had anyone in this position, it's a clean slate for deciding what we could do to support the initiative!  It could include asking coaches to have their teams sign a thank you card to give to officials, posting a sign at the stadium/gym saying thanks, and/or creating a voucher for concessions.  The simpler the better, so that it can be replicated...open to ideas!
